Office 2007 Configuration wizard runs every time I start any Application (word, excel, etc)

  • Question

  • Hullo!

I've installed Role 2007 Enterprise on my Vista x64 system, simply when I'chiliad
starting any of the Part apps, Office runs a setup/configuration prog
(Office is collecting/gathering setup data or something similar that).

    My upshot log has produced
numerous warnings, on of the more than significant is :

    Detection of production '{90120000-0030-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}', characteristic
    'ProductFiles', component '{6252B847-BADA-43D4-9252-E39767FA40A1}'
failed.  The resource 'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.pip\' does not be.

I tried to admission the HCR\.pip\ key in Regedit and receive the
    following bulletin:

    "Fault Opening Key
..pip tin can non be opened.
An mistake is preventing this key from being opened.
    Details: Admission is denied."

I accept tried the Windows Installer Make clean up utility to remove all
traces of Role, cleaned the registry, reinstalled Part 2007
iv times and yet have the install/configuring messages popping upward
    upon loading the Office programs..

ANY information would exist appreciated !!!

    Thanx a lot @lby

  • The fix to the problem is very unproblematic as it turns out - simply run the post-obit commands by typing it into the Offset/Run command box.  Use the line with Office\11.0 if you have Office 2003 installed and Function\12.0 if y'all have Office 2007 installed.  Y'all can use both if you take both installed :

    reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Part\11.0\Word\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d ane

    reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1

That is it.  Role 2007 might desire to have ane more spin round the block with information technology'due south configuration dialog box, only that should be it.

I'm not sure if this fix will piece of work with Windows 7, but I know information technology works with XP & Vista.

    Promise this helps.

  • I didn't see any error regarding MS Function in the Event Viewer, and sure plenty, your procedure didn't seem to work for me.

I'grand running the Win7 Enterprise Trial right now, and information technology seems that for all the Win7 releases so far, the easiest manner to go Office to work again is to rename the setup file as something else, and then the reconfiguration procedure isn't even started. The 1 disadvantage of this is that you cannot uninstall the program before renaming the file dorsum to the original name, just people rarely uninstall it anyways...

Updates go along to work, but subsequently Service Pack updates for Office, the setup file seems to exist restored, and then the process would have to be redone after another Part service pack is installed.

To find the setup file involved in this mess, get to the following location (for x86 computers):
    C:\Program Files\Mutual Files\microsoft shared\OFFICE12\Function Setup Controller

    Or, for x64 computers:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mutual Files\microsoft shared\OFFICE12\Office Setup Controller

Next, simply rename SETUP.EXE. I made it NOSETUP.exe but for laughs.

This procedure has worked for me every fourth dimension without fail, and then hopefully it will work for others every bit well.

  • I would advise running as ambassador (later on uninstall and restart), just that didn't help me (for Vista Habitation 32bit and Office 2007 Enterprise).  There used to exist a version of Role (2007 Student) on this reckoner, which may be part of the trouble: when there are a few install traces lingering around (which may not be removed by uninstall or registry entries may exist missed (when using a reg cleaner or looking effectually manually)).  Once installed, I even tried running Word (as an case) as administrator, but didn't help.  Nor did creating a new profile and running Word (as an instance).

I'm thinking nigh make clean slate...

...tried the repair function (in "uninstall or change program" control panel) and rebooted, but that didn't help.

found an article almost conflicting role versions, http://back up.microsoft.com/kb/928091, which suggested calculation DWORD key "NoReReg" with a value of "1" inside HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Options.  At present the configuration is a whole lot faster: i quick status bar and non another window then loading for a long time).

BUT, I wasn't happy with just that (albeit faster), and then I found a similar upshot on the web and followed that suggestion: delete any current shortcuts (including the one in the Start button) and re-create the shortcuts (from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Part\Part 12), which *TOTALLY* fixed my trouble.  At present Discussion (as an example) starts right upwardly (i.e. no nasty long expect while information technology configures itselft for the Nth fourth dimension)!

  • I finally plant a solution for this trouble past earthworks inside the consequence viewer.

Plain function programs are looking for this file each time they start (ID_00011.DPC) in this location

    C:\Plan Files\Microsoft Part\Office12

which causes the setup program to lunch every time.

    Solution :

Yous will find a file named ID_00030.DPC

in the aforementioned location, make a copy of this file and rename the re-create to

    ID_00011.DPC

now run any office program information technology will work..

    I hope this help..
